Michelle Voizin has taught others to celebrate their gifts and through her life’s journey has brought ‘Perry’ to print. She and her husband, Michael, along with fifteen year old twins (Connor and Laran), have created wonderful lessons and comical dynamics. These have inspired her to share her characters with the world.

 

Michelle is passionate about organic farming/principals and holistic health. Perry came to life one night, when her family was enjoying homemade organic pot pies. Her daughter, Laran, quickly retreated to the kitchen to wash off her plate...but a couple peas failed to slide into the garbage disposal. She and her daughter stared at the lonely peas. They were sitting on the rim as Michelle explained to Laran how sad it was, for those peas to never reach their true destination. "Mom, you tell us this all the time...", Laran stated with a giggle and a roll of her eyes.

 

So, Michelle decided to sit down and write a story to share with all, young and old...about the passion she has for organic foods, while keeping the story in line with respect for our Mother Earth, foods arduous journeys, and the love we need to teach our younger generations about finding our gifts and true purpose. 

 

A series of many events led up to this book. Michelle had been part of a reduction in force at the hospital she worked at and the meeting of the illustrator, Liesel Schmidt was destiny. If these events hadn't happened, Perry, might not have made it to the pages. She is now working on a series of stories that will be published in the near future. Keep your eyes open for new organic and heirloom seed friends and journeys!
